We have been exploring flags, food, cultures and traditions from around the world. Our children have enjoyed discovering different countries through colourful flags, stories, music, creative activities and, of course, tasting some delicious foods. It has been a fun and meaningful way to learn that while people around the world may speak different languages, celebrate different traditions and enjoy different foods, we all have so much in common.
We explored:
🌮Latin America – colourful traditions, culture and delicious Mexican flavours.
🍝Europe – exploring Italian food, culture and traditions.
🥘India – discovering vibrant colours, flavours, traditions and celebrations.
🍣Asia – exploring the wonderful variety of foods, cultures and traditions across the continent.
🥓Africa – learning about the incredible diversity of African countries, food, music and traditions.
Food has been such a wonderful way for the children to connect with the wider world. Trying new foods encourages curiosity and confidence, while learning about different cultures helps children develop respect, understanding and appreciation for diversity. There has been plenty of tasting, exploring, asking questions and sharing — and some very enthusiastic little food critics along the way!
