After consulting with the children, families and educators at our Kindergarten Centre, we have been busy bringing some very exciting ideas to life! The children had plenty to say about what they would love in their outdoor play space, and we listened. The result? A completely rebuilt river bed and mud play area, along with a brand-new Dino Land ready for some seriously BIG prehistoric adventures! 🦖🦕💦
This project has been a wonderful community effort. We have reused and repurposed recycled goods collected during our excursion to a recycling centre, along with generous donations and a whole lot of creativity. There is something pretty special about taking materials that may have otherwise been thrown away and turning them into a place where children can splash, dig, build, imagine and create!
River bed play and mud play are all about FUN, creativity and getting hands-on. Children can experiment with water, move rocks and natural materials, create muddy masterpieces, build pathways and dams, and let their imaginations run wild. Over in Dino Land, who knows what might happen? Perhaps the dinosaurs will stomp through the mud, hide among the plants, leave giant footprints or discover a whole new prehistoric world! 🦖🌿

Their support has helped us create an exciting outdoor space inspired by the ideas, interests and voices of our children. Children’s Rights Queensland works to promote awareness and education around children’s rights and the importance of children having opportunities to be heard and participate.

We officially open our new River Bed, Mud Play Area and Dino Land! 💦🦖🥳
We cannot wait to celebrate this exciting project with our children, educators and families and, most importantly, let the adventures begin!
