At Aussie Adventures Child Care & Kindergarten, and OSHC, we proudly celebrate and recognise the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during NAIDOC Week. Throughout the week, children will engage in meaningful experiences that explore storytelling, art, music and caring for Country. We are also incredibly fortunate to learn alongside our respected Elder, Aunty Lisa, who shares her knowledge, culture and traditions with our children, helping to create genuine connections and understanding.
How we are celebrating NAIDOC Week:
πͺ Listening to stories and cultural teachings from Aunty Lisa
πͺ Exploring Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander art and symbols
πͺ Learning about the importance of Country, family and community
πͺ Participating in music, dance and creative experiences inspired by culture
πͺ Discovering local Indigenous perspectives and traditions
πͺ Encouraging respect, inclusion and appreciation for Australia’s First Peoples
NAIDOC Week is a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate and learn from the world’s oldest living cultures. Together, we continue to nurture curiosity, respect and a deep appreciation for the rich traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoplesβ€οΈπ€ππΊ.
