There was plenty of excitement at Aussie Adventures Child Care & Kindergarten as the children and educators arrived in their favourite pyjamas, carrying their much-loved teddy bears for National Pyjama Day. The day is all about supporting children in foster care and raising awareness of the important role foster families play in our community.
Throughout the day, we snuggled up with stories, shared our favourite bedtime books and enjoyed a relaxed and cosy atmosphere together. The children loved showing off their pyjamas and introducing their teddy bears to their friends.
Some of the children’s comments included:
🧸 “My teddy likes story time too!” – Ava, age 4
🧸 “I wore my dinosaur pyjamas because they’re my favourite.” – Noah, age 5
🧸 “Can we have pyjama day every week?” – Sophie, age 3
Our educators also loved joining in:
🧸 “The children were so excited to bring a little piece of home into the classroom today.” – Miss Christine
🧸 “Reading stories together in our pyjamas created such a calm and happy feeling across the service.” – Miss Jaimee ECT
Days like National Pyjama Day help children learn about kindness, empathy and helping others. It also gives us an opportunity to talk about different families and the importance of making everyone feel safe, loved and included.
We love celebrating special days that teach children about caring for others while creating wonderful memories together. Seeing the smiles, cuddles with teddy bears and excitement for story time reminded us that sometimes the simplest activities become the most meaningful.
