National Children’s Week is a beautiful reminder that every child has their own story, family, culture, language and traditions that help make them who they are. In 2026, the national theme is based on Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC): “Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.”
At Aussie Adventures, we love seeing children bring their own experiences into our community. Whether it’s hearing a child proudly share words from their home language, talking about a family celebration, enjoying a favourite cultural food, listening to a story from home or learning about the traditions of others, these little moments help children feel that who they are matters. They also give children the opportunity to learn from one another, build respect and curiosity, and understand that our differences are something to celebrate.
Children’s Week is about more than one special week of the year. It’s about creating a place where every child feels a sense of belonging, identity and pride — where their voice is heard, their culture is respected and they know they are valued for exactly who they are.
