Grandparents Day is such a lovely opportunity to celebrate the special older people who bring so much love, laughter and wisdom into a child’s life. For some children, that special person is a Nan or Pop, Grandma or Grandad, while for others it may be a step-grandparent, foster grandparent, great-grandparent, family friend or another important person who has taken on that special role. These relationships are precious, and the stories, traditions, advice and life experiences shared between generations are something children can carry with them for years to come.
We love celebrating the wonderful grandparents and special people in our children’s lives by creating opportunities to share time together, enjoy a chat, make something special and simply have fun. There is something beautiful about watching a child proudly introduce their special person, sit beside them for a story or show them something they have made. These moments also help children develop respect and appreciation for older generations and understand that everyone has something valuable to teach and share.
Grandparents have a way of bringing a little extra magic into childhood — the stories that start with “when I was little…”, the family traditions, the gentle advice, the patience, the laughter and sometimes even a sneaky treat! We are grateful for all the grandparents and special older people who help our children feel loved, connected and part of something bigger. Happy Grandparents Day to the very special people who help fill childhood with wonderful memories 💕
